Option #1: Parenting
Pregnancy and motherhood are the most beautiful and significantly life-altering events that I have ever experienced. — Elisabeth Hasselbeck
Carrying and parenting can be wonderful. It will test every fiber of your being at times, yet most women who choose this option will tell you it's worth it.
Pros: You’ll have a little one who depends on you completely—your very own mini-me. They’ll bring moments of deep joy, laughter, silliness, fun, and love. You’ll witness and celebrate unforgettable milestones: their first smile, first steps, first day of school, and so much more. Through all the ups and downs, you’ll create a lifetime of meaningful memories together.
Cons: Raising children is no small task—it takes strength, perseverance, and heart. It can feel overwhelming at times, and that’s completely normal. While society may tell you that becoming a parent means giving up your dreams, we know that’s not true. We’ve walked alongside hundreds of women who have pursued their goals while raising their children. You’re not alone, and your future still matters.
Option #2: Adoption
I am a living testament you can be adopted and successful. — Daunte Culpepper
Adoption is a deeply personal and often challenging choice. Carrying a child through pregnancy and labor, only to place them in someone else’s care, requires immense strength and selflessness.
Pros: While adoption may not be the most common path, it is a courageous and meaningful option. Many adoptions today are open, allowing you to maintain a connection through ongoing communication and visits, staying involved in your child’s life in a meaningful way.
Cons: Adoption requires full acceptance of the decision. Even with open adoption, you will legally give up parental rights and won’t have control over your child’s upbringing or be present for every milestone. It’s important to consider these realities carefully.
Option #3: Abortion
I really didn't know there were two sides to the abortion issue. — Norma McCorvey, AKA Roe.
It’s estimated that nearly one in four women will face the decision of abortion during their reproductive years. Like adoption, this choice is deeply personal and one you should feel fully certain about, as it often involves a sense of loss. Choosing abortion can bring feelings of grief, along with emotional and physical challenges, and it’s important to acknowledge and honor those experiences.
Pros: Abortion is a complex and deeply personal decision. Many women believe it is the right choice for their circumstances, while others may have different feelings afterward. Ultimately, the decision is yours to make, based on what feels best for you.
Cons: Like any medical procedure, abortion carries potential physical and emotional risks. Some women may experience reproductive health challenges or mental health struggles such as depression, anxiety, or feelings of grief following the procedure. It’s important to be aware of these possibilities and seek support if needed.
